  • Developing roles and responsibilities for a key terminal for APM Terminals in the region

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up Quality/HSE management system and run it
  • Set up and run overall reporting structure
  • Set up and run safety induction system
  • Manage environmental aspects
  • Localize and Implement risk management stds and maintain a risk register
  • HSSE communication
  • HSSE visuals
  • Set up and run a performance management system
  • Overall follow up on HSSE+CSR program (scope document and scheduler)
  • Develop HSSE policies and stds…
  • Set up and run incident management process (intervention, investigation, reporting, prevention)
  • Set up and run inspections process
  • Set up and run reporting structure and process
  • Follow up on shared incidents and embed any relevant learnings
  • Coordinate permits and licenses required to get the “Operating license”
  • Manages compliance to applicable local laws and maintains La veille reglementaire
  • Manage office safety
  • Any other duties as required

We are looking for

  • Minimum bachelor degree in HSE related field – Certified in quality management systems (OSHAS 18001/ISO 14001 or similar) – Skilled in IT tools beyond office (Proven expertise in Office, design, development) – Requires at least five years of HSSE relevant experience – Requires an in depth understanding of risk management methodologies – Must have a good understanding of preventative safety measures for buildings and port facilities – Requires full understanding of local HSSE laws and regulations. – Requires an understanding of international standards of safe work practices for the industry. – Requires an understanding of work injuries, the investigation process to determine cause, and the process to assess practical solutions. – Must have extensive knowledge in investigative procedures and report-writing. – Requires the ability to communicate both in English, Arabic & French. – Requires excellent organizational skills, including planning, directing, and monitoring activities. – Requires good problem-solving skills, with an ability to define the problem, examine solutions, and select the best solution, and this must be done at times immediately under stress – Requires ability to remain calm, but able to direct others, in times of emergency. – Must be able to work outside and inside, long days and at different working hours
