Dans le cadre de son développement, l’UIR recrute pour son compte Big Data Analytics and GIS.
A postdoctoral research fellow with expertise and interest in systems modeling/software engineering is sought to join the VLIR-UOS funded project “Monitoring of Urban Pollution and its Impact on Health”. The successful postdoctoral fellow will lead and coordinate the design and implementation of a geographical information system for the monitoring and prediction of urban pollution. The research fellow will also have a teaching load of 90 hours a year. The teaching will consist of lab sessions (‘travaux pratiques’) of an introductory course in computing.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in computer science or a related field. Knowledge of and experiences in data analytics/machine learning and programming languages (e.g. Python) are essential. Knowledge of and experiences in geographic information systems (GIS) are highly desired. The candidate should be highly motivated, have demonstrated ability to work independently and have strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Brief project description: This project aims to develop a graphical information system for different types of urban pollution in Rabat-Salé-Témara, and analyze the impact of this pollution on health of children. This will be achieved through the deployment of pollution sensors as well as sophisticated tools from data sciences. The project will be carried out by the International University of Rabat (UIR) in collaboration with the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), The University of Leeds (England) and a number of hospitals in Morocco.
