ACWA Power is looking for an HSE Country Manager to be based in our country office in Rabat to have oversight and on the ground involvement on all projects in Morocco.

Main Responsibilities

HSE Strategy

  • Establish an HSE Management System SMS for the company
  • Lead the development of a positive HSE culture through-out the company
  • Lead and develop strategies for the further deployment of Industry best practice HS&E frameworks across the company and ensure HS&E support tools are effectively set-up to aid the continued integration and establishment of a culture of HS&E excellence
  • Devise, design and implement the health & safety management system
  • Develop and implement cooperation and communication regarding HSE through HSE Committees, HSE newsletters, periodic HSE & Security Field visits together with Management Team Members, HSE rewards and awards
  • Devise, supervise, and coordinate training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote HSE consciousness
  • Develop specific H&S Specifications for each project company based on a baseline risk assessment

HSE Monitoring and Measuring HSE performance

  • Implement and maintain a Performance Indicator System for APMR companies and ensure :
  • Set ambitious goals and objectives for the ACWA Power Project Companies Perform consolidated monthly HSE reporting to APMR Top Management Team and corporate HSE Manager in HQ.
  • Set up an effective Incident and Accident Reporting System for complex incidents based on Root Cause Analysis and Multiple (Safety) Barrier Analysis.

HSE System Audit 

  • Design,  implement and maintaining a HSE & Security Audit System.
  • Ensure Biannual Reviews of HSE & Security Performance.

Minimum Requirement

Studies

  •    Bachelor’s Degree in Environment, Occupational Safety & Health and/or Engineering from a recognized institute
  •  A current relevant health and safety qualification(e.g. NEBOSH Diploma/IOSH/CSP Certificate or equivalent)

Key work experience

  • Minimum ten (10) years of industrial construction safety experience managing project safety and experience with setting up HSSE Management System.
  • Worked within the industrial construction industry, with a preference for relevant power industry experience and large construction projects
  • Experience in engineering field (civil, structure, mechanical, electrical, commissioning)
