The Job

This position will assist with Western Union Digital Products. The Assistant Product Manager will work closely with the Product Delivery Manager to define the product roadmap in alignment with our product strategy; have responsibility for the Product Analyst and launching of mobile/web/omni-channel products and services definitions and drive development on time, budget and to a high standard. You will assist in the examination of new market opportunities through investigation to identify potential product offerings, strategic alliances, new consumer markets and other opportunities that could drive new growth sources. You will also assist in building business cases for each new opportunity to clearly outline, prioritize and determine overall revenue potential. The ideal candidate will be experienced in digital products, in both upstream product and service definition and downstream product development and execution.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Define and document product requirements, features and functionality
  • Manage products through the product development lifecycle
  • Understand product alternatives and work with multi-disciplined team to understand trade-offs and put value on alternatives
  • Use agile scrum methodology drafting business requirements, prioritizing features, authoring user stories and acceptance criteria and collaborating with scrum team members to ensure product features are delivered according to specifications
  • Work with regional teams to get alignment, report updates and build business cases, solutions etc
  • Manage a team of product analysts successfully and lead with strong leadership skills.

About You;

  • 3-5 years of experience building and launching consumer applications on web and mobile platforms
  • At least 2 years of product experience in Web/Mobile technologies and Web/Mobile user experience
  • Experience managing a team of product analysts
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in engineering, business or equivalent
  • Strong experience of agile required, PO certification preferred
  • Strong business writing, numerical analysis and verbal communication skills
  • Get things done attitude; Self-motivated with the ability to “roll-up sleeves” and prioritize critical deadlines
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders/teams in different countries with different cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to work seamlessly with matrix teams and juggle projects across multiple networks and platforms
  • Experience working in a large corporate environment a plus
  • Experience in global money movement a plus.
